Drilling of the first extension well confirmed the existence of 50-metres thick reservoirs with good permeability and porosity

Petrobras on Wednesday confirmed the discovery of light oil and gas in the BM-SEAL-10 block in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin.

Drilling of the first extension well at the 3-BRSA-1194-SES (3-SES-178) confirmed the existence of 50-metres thick reservoirs with good permeability and porosity, thereby supporting initial expectations about the find.

The well is 83 km from the Aracaju, coast about 7 km from the Moita Bonita 1-BRSA-1088-SES (1-SES-168) discovery well and at a water depth of 2800 meters.

The well informally known as the Moita Bonita-1 is located in ultra deep waters. The accumulation was discovered in August 2012.

The Moita Bonita accumulation is part of the development program for the deepwater Sergipe-Alagoas Basin.
