PJ Valves picked for $3.5m of FPSO contracts

23rd May 2018

PJ Valves (PJV), the specialist manufacturer and supplier of valves for the global energy industry, has been awarded two significant contracts for valve supply for FPSOs (floating, production, storage and offloading) with a combined total of $3.5m by two major oil and gas operators.

The company will manufacture and supply the valves to the projects located offshore Malaysia and the UK North Sea.

The company will manufacture and deliver 2,000 ball valves, both manual and pneumatically actuated, to the project in Malaysia. All the valves will be manufactured in accordance with the project demands, and the operator’s offshore duplex requirements. The valves will be installed on the topside modules and used in a range of process applications including gas processing and treatment.

In the UK North Sea, PJV will manufacture more than 150 forged steel gate, globe and check valves, in addition to ball valves, from its state-of-the-art facilities in Italy. The products include specifications of up to 1,500lb pressure class with Grayloc hub ends, and will be manufactured in duplex and super duplex materials. PJV will also manage the DNV inspection process.

The company was awarded the contracts as a result of its extensive offshore experience – manufacturing and supplying valves to more than 30 global FPSO projects to date. PJV’s technical specification support and ability to meet the projects’ ambitious delivery schedules were also key factors in the awards.

Tom Nesbitt, Business Development Manager at PJV, says: “These contract wins are testament to the quality of our products, unrivalled project expertise and understanding of the international energy market. Furthermore, our experience in managing material and inspection requirements will allow us to provide a swift and professional service for both projects.”
