FPSO Cidade de Mangaratiba sets sail for Lula pre-salt field offshore Brazil

Petrobras has announced that the newbuild FPSO Cidade de Mangalore has left its Angra dos Reis shipyard, built as part of a Schahin-Modec joint venture, bound for work in the Lula field

Oil production should commence in the fourth quarter of this year

This vessel will operate in the area of Iracema Sul, in the Lula field and located in the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin, and will continue to be operated by Schahin-Modec on behalf of Petrobras.

Anchored 240 miles offshore, in water depths of 2,200 metres, the Cidade de Mangaratiba will be connected to eight producing wells and eight injection wells, having the capacity to produce 150,000 barrels of oil, compress eight million cubic metres of natural gas per day, and to store 1.6 million barrels of oil.

Oil production should commence in the fourth quarter of this year.

The South Iracema area makes up the concession BM-S-11, operated by Petrobras (65 per cent) in partnership with BG E&P Brazil Ltda. (25 per cent) and Petrogal Brazil SA (10 per cent).
